Summer Time

(Picture is the day before Easter 2007 in Texas. That is Sadie our Border Collie, and yes that is snow. It snowed about 4-6 inches.)
Well, I finally did it. I said I never would but, I made a blog. For all I know though this could be the only post I ever do. I haven't quite decided if this blog will have a specific purpose. I don't think it will. I feel like it will just mostly be just what it says. Rant. Just plain 'ol jibber jabber.
So, here it goes.
Today was a nice day. Why? Because, I finally got to sleep in and do nothing. For the last week I have been at my brothers house helping him fix a drainage problem. His garage became the local water storage every time it rained. So, we did some excavating and french draining and some retaining wall building. Then, I finally just said one day, "tomorrow I am going home." I had/have so many things to get done here. For those who don't know, my wife Tanya and I are expecting a baby girl in the next few weeks. The babies room has been an ongoing project for months now. My dad, brother and I built the babies crib from scratch. If I think about it I will post a picture. I also, made some butterflies that I have to hang on the walls. Her room was also the first room to have crown molding put in. I had the "priviledge" of doing this as well. Now I have a chest of drawers that my mom bought for us to use as the changing table. She got it at the unfinished furniture store here in town. So, last night we stained it a natural color and I have to polyurethane it now. I am hoping two coats will be suffice. Then I have to polyurethane some shelves I made to go above the chest.
Well, back to today. We did get some rain mostly all bark and no bite. I.E. thunder and lightning. But, I was able to get the yard mowed and trimmed and plants cared for before it started to rain. Tanya has been lounging around. She has been really great through the whole pregancy. I think she is ready as I am too for it to happen. Well, mostly ready. We are both excited and nervous about the whole thing. It will be a huge change for us. We are so used to it just being us and the dog. Now all the attention and concerns will sway away.
I also think it is nice that we both teach. We have summers off and it will be especially good now because we will both be off for the first month or two to take care of her.
Well, I am tired of writing and hitting the delete button to go back and fix all of my errors. I know my grammar and punctuation is horrible but, hopefully I still get the point across. Maybe, there will be more to follow this posting. Only, time will tell.

Glad to see you caved to the pressure and joined the "blogosphere." I look forward to looking at the same post for many months to come.
