School is full speed ahead

After reading some other blogs I frequent, I have noticed that others are having the same trouble I am. Finding time to write here. Well, the baby is now two months old now, and she is a cutie!! I find it funny, when she was born it was cry, cry, cry. But, seeing her just sit there and stare at things, moving her head around and laughing with you. It is so much more easy to not let the crying get you so upset. I have started my new position at work. I remember at the end of the school year I was so pumped about this new job. Well, I have started it. I must say at first I just felt so overwhelmed. But, as the days progress which by the way it has been a very slow progression, I am feeling more and more comfortable. It is still just the managing that while trying to manage a homlife too. Grass getting tall, house collecting dust, and trash and clutter, food supply getting low, beverage stock trickling down, and TiVo's filling up. Speaking of food supplies, my wife called and I have to meet her at the store to replenish stock whill Nana keeps the "Princess". Which by the way all of the granddaughters are princesses, which makes it very difficult sometimes when they are all together. Until next time.

School Time

Well, it is just as I suspected. I figured once school started back, my posts would become few and far between. So, here is a short one.
Monday, was the first day of daycare for our baby girl. It was nice that my wife and I were going to the same final destination. We could and did drop her off together. It was hard. Leaving her with people we only met once! But, we made it and now we are going on day 3 tomorrow. People always said it is a life changing experience. Man, were they not kidding, financially, and just everyday life. For example, I really needed to mow the yard. So, tonight I asked my wife if it was okay. She said, sure I can take care of her while you do that. Well, 2 hours later I come inside and hear the baby crying while she is trying to make dinner. It is just so different now. It is so hard. But, I am thankful for my baby and my wife who has the patience for the baby and me. So, here's to my wife, my friend, my baby's momma!! I love you and couldn't make it without you!!

Tagged?

Well, after reading on a couple of blogs I read, (joicefamily, bro), I have seen it all. You know those infamous emails you get that has 20 questions that you have to answer? Well, they have made it into blogs. So, without further ado, I shall entertain those who want to know those deep dark secrets. Oh, I am doing this because I was "tagged." Supposedly, you have to tag 2 people when you do this? So....Bundy and Scooter you are up.

FIRSTS AND LASTS
First Memory: Shooting through this tunnel and seeing a bunch of lights and people with masks.....not really...Living in this really small house that we ended up moving out of and living in another house right around the corner.

First Real Kiss: All the others were practice for the real deal. Safe answer...my wife. For humor sake...7th grade on a bus ride.

First Concert: My moms band. (she was a band director)I am sure there is one before that...

First Love: The first time I had chocolate.

First Crush: I drank one of those probably in jr high the first time. Nah, It was my kindegarten teacher... Ms. Greenway. Of course that didn't pan out!!!

First thing you think in the morning: It is either that I really need to take a leak or in the winter time it is..."man am I comfortable, just 5 more minutes."

First book you remember loving: Ha, that is a good one. Can't say I ever did.

First pet: A cat named Beethoven.

First question you’ll ask in Heaven: What came first the chi.....not going there. It would probably be....Where is the pool? Really I don't have an answer to this.

First thing you think of when you hear the word vacation: SLEEP.

First best friend: Andy Wharton. Till he became to cool. Things got better, for those of you who care. Which means everyone didn't need to read the last part.

Last time you dressed up: Last night...No, well..yes, but the answer it wants I am sure is, a few years ago, my friend Chris's wedding. I think? That being a tux.

Last CD you bought: the Soundtrack to Garden State? Man, it has been a while.

Last book you read: Do you count Cliffs Notes? If not I don't think I can answer that? Maybe Farenheit 451? Jr. year high school. I started, "Catch Me if You Can" in college but, stopped with about 4 chapters to go. I just lost the desire.

Last time you cried: When we brought our baby home 7 weeks ago.

Last movie you saw: Bourne Ultimatum which in my opinion is the best in the trilogy.

Last time you told someone you loved them: Today.

Last really funny thing you did: Made a joke with some cohorts at work today.

Last Halloween costume: Probably, 2001 Spring Sing in college. I was John "Hannibal" Smith.

Last concert attended: eek, Three Doors Down? or Sister Hazel? Can't remember. Although, I did see "Rockin Rick and the Corvettes" too.

So there you go. Enjoy, and goodnight.

Long time?

Well, I know it has been a long time since I last posted. I guess that is just a sign of how busy I have been. With summer winding down it has been pretty hectic lately. So, as promised I will tell the truck story. It all began about 3-4 months ago. I knew I had to get another truck because of the baby. I have/had an extended cab truck but, their weren't any seats in the back. So, the baby would have to sit in the front. Which neither one of us(my wife and I) were too high on. So, we started looking for another "ride". Well, one day I was browsing Ford's website and came across a Diesel truck that was extended cab and had good miles especially for a diesel. So, I called the dealer that had this truck and the guy said, someone else had put a deposit down on it (he lived in another town about 6-8 hours away and was coming the next day). So, the salesman said he would call me back the next day and let me know what is up. So, he did, and he said that the guy that put the deposit down couldn't come for another day and that if I wanted to come check it out and liked it, it would be mine. He couldn't hold the truck on deposit that long. So, after a long ordeal of getting there. Side note: the truck we had was in my wife's name and so if we traded it in she had to go which meant the baby had to go and my grandather wanted to go and see it too. In case you hadn't figured it out, my old truck only sat 3 people. So, we ended up going in 2 vehicles and my grandmother rode with my wife and daughter. About 2 o'clock we finally left and about 9 o'clock that night we made it back. It was a long day. But, needless to say I am now the proud owner of a Ford F-250 extended cab diesel truck. I love it! So far at least.
This is my last weekend before I start up work again. I have to go back to school and start getting ready for another school year. I have thoroughly enjoyed my summer break. I got a daughter, a new truck and relaxed for what was the longest summer we have had in years(in actual days). So here's to summer 2007 and it's many blessings and fun times. I plan on having a couple more fun times before the weekend is up too! I think I might actually go swimming for the first time all summer too!!! Peace, and see ya around hopefully sooner than my last post.

Lame

I know my posting these last few days have been lame. Why? you ask... Well, it seems that whenever I actually have time to sit down and do this, my time is very limited and I don't have time to really sit and write some interesting story or explain things in detail the way I would. So, I wait for one of those times to come so that I can be more thorough. For example, as I write this my daughter is lying in her crib wide awake and making noises. Not crying or anything, just those wide awake, content noises. But, as any of you who have kids know how fast those noised can change to cries of dissatisfaction. So, I am afraid to tell you the story of my new truck. But, in due time I shall write of this excursion. Doesn't it just blow your mind. How babies stay awake when you want them to sleep and sleep when you want them awake.
See, (not that you can hear) just like I said, those oooh's and aaaah's are starting to turn to grrr's, hiccups and cries. So, once again I leave you empty handed and left wanting more! Stay tuned as I will tell you all of the truck I had to have......

Long time....

Yes, I know, I haven't posted in awhile. For good reason. I haven't been around. We took the little one to see her grandparents in Louisiana. Man, did they love getting to see her. I must say she is quite cute. It is so funny, they always say once you have a baby you get demoted. This has come true for us as well. As soon as we showed up. "Yeah, you made it. Where is she...." Not much really going on here. We are just counting down the days till school starts again!! Man, is it going to be a longgggggggggggg year. I wish summer could just go on forever. Minus the heat. Well, any way hope everyone out there is okay.
