Been awhile?

Yes, I know it has been awhile since my last post. But, for good reason. I have been busy with work and busy with our baby girl. She is now 4 months old. Man, how time flies. Not much to say, just anxiously waiting for that Thanksgiving break, I am looking forward to some fried turkey!!! MMM MM MMM. Well, hope all is well with you all. I am sorry for such a lame post, I just wanted to make sure you all knew I was still alive....

HU Football on ESPN Top 10

This is something I just discovered. The first part of the video is another school. But the second is my alma mater. Not very often a DII school makes the Top 10 highlights for ESPN.

Another week down...2

Man, has it been a long week. And it was only a 4 day week with kids. I have been doing nothing but stressing. I do not like this new class I was given. The kids are great I just have a hard time with dealing with some of the things that go along with the class. I just really wish I could have my original schedule back. Then, I actually came home and enjoyed my time at home. Now, all I do is think about the situation I have been put in and it is not fair to my students or my family. Life goes on right? Well, life only comes around once, I just wish we could all just enjoy everday of it. On a lighter note, it is the weekend and maybe I will get to do some dove hunting, or hit some golf balls. I think that would help the build up of stress, and frustrations. To all, have a wonderful weekend and stay safe!!
HERE IS MY FAVORITE THEME SONG OF ALL!!! Also, one of my favorite old shows I remember.

Another week down....almost.

Well, for those of you who don't know. I am a teacher. Well, I thought this year was going to be great for me. I had my schedule all lined up and ready to go. But, as I am sure you all know this story is going to have a turning point. Here it is; two weeks in I am informed that in the middle of the day I am teaching a science class. If you don't know me, science is far from the top of my academic forte. But, what can a person do? So, I have spoken with numerous teachers who have far more years under their belt and they have all been helpful. The main thing that I hear is, "It could be worse", and "It is okay, I know you can do it". So, with a smile I go in each day and say, "It could be worse".
On a lighter note. Here is another theme song I think most of you will recognize!!

Here is the second video for you all.

Ideas from other blogs

So I was visiting my bro's blog earlier this evening, and it gave me an idea. He posted a video of a show we used to watch as kids. It brought back so many memories. So what is my idea? I think I am going to post some of my own every now and then. Just to ponder on the "'ol days". So here is my first one.

ANTS

I want to write this post about ants. We have an infestation of ants in our house. It is funny. Last year, we had ants but they were what the bug people called "pharoah" ants. (sugar ants, and other little nuisance ants fall into this category.) Well, this year we have moved up. To FIRE ANTS. They are some how coming through the foundation up through the carpet and into the house. My wife has been stung in bed and while standing at the bathroom sink. I have also been stung a couple of times. I was just in the kitchen making baby girl a bottle and I felt something on my neck. Sure enough, one had got onto my neck. AGGGGGHHHH they are everywhere. They are now coming in the front door, and they don't knock before entering! HA HA. Well, needless to say the bug guy is coming tomorrow. I write this post to ask; Have you had a problem with ants this year? Or are we the only ones?

School is full speed ahead

After reading some other blogs I frequent, I have noticed that others are having the same trouble I am. Finding time to write here. Well, the baby is now two months old now, and she is a cutie!! I find it funny, when she was born it was cry, cry, cry. But, seeing her just sit there and stare at things, moving her head around and laughing with you. It is so much more easy to not let the crying get you so upset. I have started my new position at work. I remember at the end of the school year I was so pumped about this new job. Well, I have started it. I must say at first I just felt so overwhelmed. But, as the days progress which by the way it has been a very slow progression, I am feeling more and more comfortable. It is still just the managing that while trying to manage a homlife too. Grass getting tall, house collecting dust, and trash and clutter, food supply getting low, beverage stock trickling down, and TiVo's filling up. Speaking of food supplies, my wife called and I have to meet her at the store to replenish stock whill Nana keeps the "Princess". Which by the way all of the granddaughters are princesses, which makes it very difficult sometimes when they are all together. Until next time.

School Time

Well, it is just as I suspected. I figured once school started back, my posts would become few and far between. So, here is a short one.
Monday, was the first day of daycare for our baby girl. It was nice that my wife and I were going to the same final destination. We could and did drop her off together. It was hard. Leaving her with people we only met once! But, we made it and now we are going on day 3 tomorrow. People always said it is a life changing experience. Man, were they not kidding, financially, and just everyday life. For example, I really needed to mow the yard. So, tonight I asked my wife if it was okay. She said, sure I can take care of her while you do that. Well, 2 hours later I come inside and hear the baby crying while she is trying to make dinner. It is just so different now. It is so hard. But, I am thankful for my baby and my wife who has the patience for the baby and me. So, here's to my wife, my friend, my baby's momma!! I love you and couldn't make it without you!!

Tagged?

Well, after reading on a couple of blogs I read, (joicefamily, bro), I have seen it all. You know those infamous emails you get that has 20 questions that you have to answer? Well, they have made it into blogs. So, without further ado, I shall entertain those who want to know those deep dark secrets. Oh, I am doing this because I was "tagged." Supposedly, you have to tag 2 people when you do this? So....Bundy and Scooter you are up.

FIRSTS AND LASTS
First Memory: Shooting through this tunnel and seeing a bunch of lights and people with masks.....not really...Living in this really small house that we ended up moving out of and living in another house right around the corner.

First Real Kiss: All the others were practice for the real deal. Safe answer...my wife. For humor sake...7th grade on a bus ride.

First Concert: My moms band. (she was a band director)I am sure there is one before that...

First Love: The first time I had chocolate.

First Crush: I drank one of those probably in jr high the first time. Nah, It was my kindegarten teacher... Ms. Greenway. Of course that didn't pan out!!!

First thing you think in the morning: It is either that I really need to take a leak or in the winter time it is..."man am I comfortable, just 5 more minutes."

First book you remember loving: Ha, that is a good one. Can't say I ever did.

First pet: A cat named Beethoven.

First question you’ll ask in Heaven: What came first the chi.....not going there. It would probably be....Where is the pool? Really I don't have an answer to this.

First thing you think of when you hear the word vacation: SLEEP.

First best friend: Andy Wharton. Till he became to cool. Things got better, for those of you who care. Which means everyone didn't need to read the last part.

Last time you dressed up: Last night...No, well..yes, but the answer it wants I am sure is, a few years ago, my friend Chris's wedding. I think? That being a tux.

Last CD you bought: the Soundtrack to Garden State? Man, it has been a while.

Last book you read: Do you count Cliffs Notes? If not I don't think I can answer that? Maybe Farenheit 451? Jr. year high school. I started, "Catch Me if You Can" in college but, stopped with about 4 chapters to go. I just lost the desire.

Last time you cried: When we brought our baby home 7 weeks ago.

Last movie you saw: Bourne Ultimatum which in my opinion is the best in the trilogy.

Last time you told someone you loved them: Today.

Last really funny thing you did: Made a joke with some cohorts at work today.

Last Halloween costume: Probably, 2001 Spring Sing in college. I was John "Hannibal" Smith.

Last concert attended: eek, Three Doors Down? or Sister Hazel? Can't remember. Although, I did see "Rockin Rick and the Corvettes" too.

So there you go. Enjoy, and goodnight.

Long time?

Well, I know it has been a long time since I last posted. I guess that is just a sign of how busy I have been. With summer winding down it has been pretty hectic lately. So, as promised I will tell the truck story. It all began about 3-4 months ago. I knew I had to get another truck because of the baby. I have/had an extended cab truck but, their weren't any seats in the back. So, the baby would have to sit in the front. Which neither one of us(my wife and I) were too high on. So, we started looking for another "ride". Well, one day I was browsing Ford's website and came across a Diesel truck that was extended cab and had good miles especially for a diesel. So, I called the dealer that had this truck and the guy said, someone else had put a deposit down on it (he lived in another town about 6-8 hours away and was coming the next day). So, the salesman said he would call me back the next day and let me know what is up. So, he did, and he said that the guy that put the deposit down couldn't come for another day and that if I wanted to come check it out and liked it, it would be mine. He couldn't hold the truck on deposit that long. So, after a long ordeal of getting there. Side note: the truck we had was in my wife's name and so if we traded it in she had to go which meant the baby had to go and my grandather wanted to go and see it too. In case you hadn't figured it out, my old truck only sat 3 people. So, we ended up going in 2 vehicles and my grandmother rode with my wife and daughter. About 2 o'clock we finally left and about 9 o'clock that night we made it back. It was a long day. But, needless to say I am now the proud owner of a Ford F-250 extended cab diesel truck. I love it! So far at least.
This is my last weekend before I start up work again. I have to go back to school and start getting ready for another school year. I have thoroughly enjoyed my summer break. I got a daughter, a new truck and relaxed for what was the longest summer we have had in years(in actual days). So here's to summer 2007 and it's many blessings and fun times. I plan on having a couple more fun times before the weekend is up too! I think I might actually go swimming for the first time all summer too!!! Peace, and see ya around hopefully sooner than my last post.

Lame

I know my posting these last few days have been lame. Why? you ask... Well, it seems that whenever I actually have time to sit down and do this, my time is very limited and I don't have time to really sit and write some interesting story or explain things in detail the way I would. So, I wait for one of those times to come so that I can be more thorough. For example, as I write this my daughter is lying in her crib wide awake and making noises. Not crying or anything, just those wide awake, content noises. But, as any of you who have kids know how fast those noised can change to cries of dissatisfaction. So, I am afraid to tell you the story of my new truck. But, in due time I shall write of this excursion. Doesn't it just blow your mind. How babies stay awake when you want them to sleep and sleep when you want them awake.
See, (not that you can hear) just like I said, those oooh's and aaaah's are starting to turn to grrr's, hiccups and cries. So, once again I leave you empty handed and left wanting more! Stay tuned as I will tell you all of the truck I had to have......

Long time....

Yes, I know, I haven't posted in awhile. For good reason. I haven't been around. We took the little one to see her grandparents in Louisiana. Man, did they love getting to see her. I must say she is quite cute. It is so funny, they always say once you have a baby you get demoted. This has come true for us as well. As soon as we showed up. "Yeah, you made it. Where is she...." Not much really going on here. We are just counting down the days till school starts again!! Man, is it going to be a longgggggggggggg year. I wish summer could just go on forever. Minus the heat. Well, any way hope everyone out there is okay.

Human Compost

Well, a friend of mine works for this state org. that checks on all of the legality stuff when it comes to people dumping hazardous materials and such. He talked to me about how he found out you can actually by Human Compost. Well, to make a long story short we are going to go buy some and fill our yards with human excrement. Isn't that awesome? He says they have to do all kinds of stuff to it in order to make it legal to sell. So, the way I see it is, if he trusts it so do I. Could you imagine how much nutrients has to be in this stuff too?
My random thought for the day. Barry Bonds, if the guy has never said yes or no to the whole steroids thing nor has he come out to defend himself....I think is the first sign of guilt. Peace, have a good night...scratch that...it is morning now.

What an honor!!

I was checking in looking at some of the blogs I frequent and looking at my trivia game I started. Well, first I logged on to my trivia game to check it out and see who was actually playing it. To my suprise I had two visitors. Two that I never would have thought would have looked at it. It is cool to see that some people might actually check this blog out once in a blue moon.
Not only that, I looked at another friends blog and notice I got added to his blog list. What a feat. What a treat. What an honor. So, for those who think that nobody cares, just think again, there is those out there that actually read. If not, they at least like to play games!!
On a side note we got some bills today. Stupid us, we always thought that when you have a baby they are covered under the mothers insurance for the 1st 30 days at least. Well, they are....in a way. What they never said is once you get them on an insurance plan, you have to go back and make up for those 30+ days and pay for them. So our next insurance bill just doubled!! FUN! NOT!! Oh, here is the other clincher, we just got our hospital bill today. They said we had prepaid for everything except for the epideral (sp?) or as my brother calls it the "happy shot". But, to our dismay, we got a 2 page bill that told us all of the little things we got billed for up to the ibuproferin. It is ridiculous what they charge you for. I have learned a lesson though. Next child, make sure to ask before you just nod and say, "sure" when they ask if you want something. Well, I need to sit down off my soapbox for now. So, have a wonderful day, night, evening, morning, whatever it is when you read this.

3:12 AM

Well, I am still awake. I was reading a friends blog and saw this cool site he added. So, I decided to copy myself. It is a trivia website. Fell free to join and play. It is thislarson family trivia. I also put a link on the side page.

2:37AM

Well, it is late or should I say, early. It is time to hit the sack. I just thought I would throw up a quick post and say, nothing new happening here. Same 'ol, same 'ol. I hear the little one stirring here and there. But, my "shift" is almost over. I can feel the pillow now. So, adios, and manana.

Sad Day

I was messing around on the computer earlier. Playing Spider Solitare. I am addicted. My wife comes in and says she found one of our co..ex-coworkers blogs. So, I proceeded to check it out. It is sad to read because he is a coach. Well, our head coach got canned this last year and a new one has come in and cleaned house. By this I mean, brought in his own, "yes men". It is sad because he was one of those let go. I just started teaching at this new school this last year and got to know some great people. What makes it worse is I worked in the Social Studies dept. Which in case you forgot from your high school days a great percentage of those teachers are coaches. So, 75% of these people I speak of that I met are no longer employed at my school. So, what does this mean? I have to start all over and make new friends. I think I should make it a rule. Don't make friends with coaches, they just end up leaving sooner or later. Man, did that sound like a girl or what? Didn't mean to, it is just the truth.
On a lighter note. My grandmother gave me this ham the other day. So, last night as I was up with the little one around 1 in the morning I decided to throw that ham in the crock pot. I let it cook for about 10 hours. Man, when I pulled it out for lunch, it was almost impossible to cut. It just kept falling apart. MAN WAS IT GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, have you heard the newest sports scandal? The NBA ref who supposedly fixed games and bet on them? This is huge!
You know what really eats me...by the way, I am really being random in my thoughts today. Do you ever go to the gas station after the prices have been eeking up a little and it finally either goes down a little or you just decide, hey I better fill up before it shoots up more. Then, the next day you see the price droppes signigicantly? It always happens to me.
Anyway, I think I should go now. We have and episode of Dead Zone, 4400, The Closer and much much more to watch. See you soon....

It has happened.

Well, it has happened. She (the baby)prefers the Mrs. I was probably up for half an hour, rocking, burping, changing diapers, feeding, holding. Nothing worked, she just screamed bloody murder!! Until, I finally woke my wife up and said, I don't know what else to do. She gets up and what do you know, baby is hunky dory now. I am already hated by my 3 week old baby!!!
So, I was reading my brothers blog just about 5 minutes ago and he talked about something that really hit home with me. He talked about those ads that some cable stations are notorious for during tv shows. You know those that take up the bottom portion of your screen. Especially, those with sound. It was funny because my wife and I were just talking about that earlier today. We were watching, "Flip the House" on one of those do it yourself channels. Any way, they were showing the landscaping this guy and his wife did to this house they were flipping in the 1 million dollar price range. Well, right when they were showing the pre and post pictures this add for some other reality show comes on with hot rods driving across the screen, so we didn't get to see a thing!!! It makes me so mad!! You would think that even some of the shows that air on these channels would be up in arms about it? Well, I guess if that is up on my complain list then things aren't to bad. Enjoy the rest of the week and upcoming weekend.

Scary

I noticed a comment that my bro wrote on one of my last posts. He said, "that is the calm before the storm", by this he was referrering to the post. I said that the baby has finally started to make a turn and sleep real nice etc... Well, I don't know what happened ever since we got back from seing the newest addition to his family. Our girl, has gone on a rampage. I say this as she sleeps quietly. It seems that she is a bottomless pit, she can't seem to eat enough, or be held enough. The holding part I thank Nana for this. She held her almost 24/7 this last weekend. Now it seems she has to be held in order for her to go to sleep. NOT COOL!!! It is almost like we took 3 steps forward since she was born and over the weekend to 10 back!! I think the BIG GUY upstairs is trying to teach me something called, "patience". In time I am sure she will get better........I hope.
So, on a lighter note, what do you think about all of this Barry Bonds stuff? Will he break the record this year? Some might say that is a stupid question, as of today he only needs 4 more HR's and there is like 70 games left in the season. But, he has gone 0-21 and lately has played as a pinch hitter.
Or how 'bout this. Texas I notice in a lot of polls is preseason #2. Is this legit, is Colt the "Real McCoy", was it only a "sophmore slump" for Jamaal Charles, is Texas falling apart with its athletes who can't seem to stay out of trouble? What is your take on those Orangebloods?

Go Time Again

Well, I am sitting on the other side of the wait now. My brother called at about 6:30 this morning. I was sleeping so good too. And better yet, so was the baby. But, speaking of babies....that gets me back to the reason I posted today. My brother called this morning, and said, "it's go time". So, of course, we had no clean clothes, the baby was sound asleep, it was pouring down rain, and we flat out weren't ready. Two hours later we are on the road. It rained right when we got into the traffic but thankfully quit when we actually had to get up on the overpasses.
So, we wait, ever so patiently. I tell you what, it is soooooooo nice having Nana around though, because of course she wants to hold her all the time. So, needless to say that is why I actually get to sit here and write this. It was awesome though, on the way here. Our baby girl, the gem that she is, slept the whole way here!!!
My brother is giving me slack about the baby, so now it is pay back!!!

Thursday, July 12, 2007

All is Quiet

I think we might have hit a turning point. The baby has decided that changing diapers isn't something she has to cry about every time. And, she slept well, how does the term go, "like a baby" through the night. She of course had her moments of "feeding" time but, she went right back to sleep after that. AMAZING!!!
One thing I miss though, (change of subject) is swinging the
'ol golf club around. I think I might have to visit the driving range here pretty soon. I was supposed to go with a friend from work sometime this summer. I just obviously haven't had time. I also need to go before school starts and we have the baby on insurance and daycare!! That is going to rock our world!
Well, I think a couple of friends other than my bro has this blog address to check out. So, maybe it won't just be an update for my brother to know what has been going on or not going on for that matter in "thislarsonfamily".
We finally got some pictures developed off of our camera the other day. $60 bucks worth. And most were just singles. We have on of those 1gb disks. I think there is something like 1000+ pictures on it. We just never make ourself stay up to date with them.
Hey, have ya'll heard about Oklahoma! They have to forfeit their entire '05 season!! HA HA HA. That is just too bad. Well, I am finding myself rambling again so, goodbye.

Monday, July 9, 2007

Monday

Well, we had a rain shower on Saturday and I thought to check a leak we had in our roof. The roofer guy was here a week or so ago and "fixed" it. Well, you know how that goes. So, I guess I have to call the builder again and gripe again. Thought I would write a short post here while the women sleep(wife and baby). I think they had a long night last night. I was up till 1:30 or so, and I threw in the towel.
My brother let me borrow his pressure washer probably a little over a month now. I was going to wash my fence and deck. Well, I washed my driveway, sidewalk and fence and the rains came. I have not had a chance to finish and wash my deck until yesterday. We finally had a lull and I had time to sneak out and mow and wash the deck. Well, most of the deck. I didn't finish but I should today. Then I can treat it and enjoy my deck again!!! Oh, and I can take the washer back to my brother not that he needs it anyway soon, with his baby on the way and all!!
I am really bummed. I waited for what felt like eons for a Best Buy to show up in town. Well it is finally here but, I now have a baby and no money to shop!! Oh well, I guess that is one of those life things. Anyway, I am just rambling now so, I am done....for now.

I'm Back

Well, I know it has been awhile since I posted. I have been a little pre-occupied with a poop/crying machine, some might recognize as a baby. She has made our summer just start to fly by. Today, she is one week old. It is really amazing just in a week to think, man she has already grown some. We also, emptied our diaper genie II today for the first time. I even got to polyurethane the rocking chair I have been working on for weeks now. I figured I should put a coat on while I had the chance today. There was actually a lull in the rain for a bit this morning. But, I did go out and work on my back door some. With the house being new a year+ ago now it is starting to do some settling and the door is sometimes....scratch that...always hard to open. So, I tried a trick I saw from my good buddy Tom Silva. (not really my buddy, but a guy can dream right.) I did see him do this on an episode of "Ask this Old House," once though. I took a piece of cardboard and put it behind one of the hinges that screwed into the door to raise the bottom of the door some. It doesn't snag where it used to but, now it pushed the door out a little far. Isn't it funny how on TV they make things look so easy? Well, we await the phone call from my brother, he and his wife are having a baby too as I think I stated that in an earlier post. Well, anywho, it will be our babies first long trip. She did make a trip the other day which was also her first trip shopping. I think she did great. Actually, she did better than her mother who I don't think was quite ready to walk around that much.
Well, I hear the little one waking up from one of her many naps. See you soon....

June 28th, 2007

This was the day our lives changed forever. Our baby girl decided to join us on this day. We had joked and joked about the "due" date and when it really would be called. Well, I had picked Mon, the 25 or Wed, the 27th. So, I was right in one aspect. Let, me back up a little. We were sitting down to watch TV. We had just finished dinner and decided to have a little dessert. So, with out trusty DVR we paused our show, got up and ventured into the kitchen to make a little what we call, "snacky snack." My wife made hers up and had gone back to the living room while I stayed to make my ice cream just the right way. After, I finished doing this I turned the corner to sit down myself and I hear, "UHHHH, OHHHHHH." Of course my nature and anyone else's, "WHAT!" What do I see my wife had ran off to the bathroom saying, "I think my water broke." After calling the sister-in-law, and talking to her and my brother's friend "dawg"(another story), we decided to go to the hospital.
Me being the intelligent guy I am decided, hey, I am going to be a while and I stink, (I did some outdoor work that day.) I think I am going to take a shower, so, I did. No big deal. We get there and long story short, (too late), we had a baby girl at 10:31 the next morning.
So, now we sit and watch her start her daily/nightly routine of eat-sleep-poop-pee-cry-and sleep some more. Did I mention she is adorable!! 8lbs 1 oz, 20 inches and she had got a head of hair!! That is something that she definitely did NOT get from me!! Well, signing off for now, maybe I can get a little shut eye since I have been awake for 2 days now. Again, pictures at a later date.

Monday, June 25, 2007

Sorry

Well, I have already thought about it and know I should have and it has also been said. I should have taken pictures of this chair I spoke of that I am restoring. I will take some pics tomorrow as I should finish gluing it together then. I am regretful that I do not have any pictures from when I first started. Believe me when I say it has come along way!! Today was a busy day as it was my wife's "half "birthday. I know, sounds stupid but, if you add the days up you wouldn't think so. 6 months from now is Christmas day. Yep, her b-day is Christmas day. It really sucks for her. So, we decided that she should get her own day. We went out and ate with my mom and had some delicious steak. Afterwords, we worked our way back to her house where she had a cake that would have fed an army, and some presents. I know one of the gifts involve her having to go to an outlet mall shopping. Not good!! Well, that is all for today, maybe something life changing will happen tomorrow, like a addition to the female population in this household.

3rd post

Well, this is more posts than I thought I would ever have. It is about 2 in the morning. And I just read my brothers blog. He was so excited to start a blog and I now have read the same 3 postings he has written since May I believe. Well, I have been trying to restore a rocking chair a friend gave us. I started just sanding on it a few days ago, and as I progressed I noticed some joints loose. So, I did like any normal hard working american would do and decided to just start taking it apart and do it right. Tom Silva would be proud!!! Anyway, it made it easier to sand as well. I got all the sanding done in about 2 days. So, I have now started piecing and gluing it back together. I have the bottom up to the seat done and it is clamped and drying now. The nice thing about it all is I got to go to Home Depot today and buy like 6 clamps. I didn't quite have enough to get all of the bottome section done at once. Believe it or not, my wife suggested I get the clamps. I think she realizes it is one of my last trips to Home Depot where I could just go in and buy something. (baby=poor). I sometimes stop and say, why am I typing this? I know pretty much the only person who reads this is my brother. Well, I guess he can stay up to date on my going-ons. Good Night.

Today was another day

Just another day today. We are trying to finish the babies room. I think we are 99% there. We do keep getting these random rain showers. It is good though, I am saving money. Our sprinklers won't have to water!! We went to visit a friends newborn baby yesterday. Hugh and his wife Tiffany. They had such a little one. 6 pounds and some change. She seemed so fragile. It is almost time to eat. Did I ever mention how much I love summer vacation.

Summer Time

(Picture is the day before Easter 2007 in Texas. That is Sadie our Border Collie, and yes that is snow. It snowed about 4-6 inches.)
Well, I finally did it. I said I never would but, I made a blog. For all I know though this could be the only post I ever do. I haven't quite decided if this blog will have a specific purpose. I don't think it will. I feel like it will just mostly be just what it says. Rant. Just plain 'ol jibber jabber.
So, here it goes.
Today was a nice day. Why? Because, I finally got to sleep in and do nothing. For the last week I have been at my brothers house helping him fix a drainage problem. His garage became the local water storage every time it rained. So, we did some excavating and french draining and some retaining wall building. Then, I finally just said one day, "tomorrow I am going home." I had/have so many things to get done here. For those who don't know, my wife Tanya and I are expecting a baby girl in the next few weeks. The babies room has been an ongoing project for months now. My dad, brother and I built the babies crib from scratch. If I think about it I will post a picture. I also, made some butterflies that I have to hang on the walls. Her room was also the first room to have crown molding put in. I had the "priviledge" of doing this as well. Now I have a chest of drawers that my mom bought for us to use as the changing table. She got it at the unfinished furniture store here in town. So, last night we stained it a natural color and I have to polyurethane it now. I am hoping two coats will be suffice. Then I have to polyurethane some shelves I made to go above the chest.
Well, back to today. We did get some rain mostly all bark and no bite. I.E. thunder and lightning. But, I was able to get the yard mowed and trimmed and plants cared for before it started to rain. Tanya has been lounging around. She has been really great through the whole pregancy. I think she is ready as I am too for it to happen. Well, mostly ready. We are both excited and nervous about the whole thing. It will be a huge change for us. We are so used to it just being us and the dog. Now all the attention and concerns will sway away.
I also think it is nice that we both teach. We have summers off and it will be especially good now because we will both be off for the first month or two to take care of her.
Well, I am tired of writing and hitting the delete button to go back and fix all of my errors. I know my grammar and punctuation is horrible but, hopefully I still get the point across. Maybe, there will be more to follow this posting. Only, time will tell.
